Hi, my name is Jade Sun Thompson and I am the founder of JST Marketing.
I started my work life at the age of 14 with a desire to work hard and save up as much money as I could. I progressed through the supermarket chain from casual, to full time, to a manager all before I was 18 - whilst still juggling high school. I progressed on from retail to hospitality, where again I progressed from casual to management within 12 months. After leaving hospitality is where I found my calling.
Starting at a Global security company as an administration assistant I quickly evolved in my role and begun supporting marketing. I realised early on that I enjoyed marketing so began to do anything I could to upskill and further my knowledge. In 2021 I became the sole marketer for the Global security company, Gunnebo - a B2B business; responsible for all marketing activities and objectives for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Being a single-team marketer locally working with minimal budgets has taught me how to be creative with less. I have developed transferrable skills on how to generate quality results without over-spending, however that comes at a cost. I have created an amazing network of professionals with incredible skills but managing all of them whilst also having to implement each element often becomes overwhelming. I often wish I had the budget to hire a team to help but that wasn’t a possibility. It was because of this I have built the business model for JST Marketing.
As a 30 year old female with a drive to be the best version of myself, I want to build something that helps support my local community grow their businesses without breaking the bank. I have always dreamed of creating an inclusive workplace where I can build a positive culture; where my team feel supported, confident in their abilities and happy to be part of something making an impact. Creating a positive work environment and somewhere for more marketers to gather, collaborate and excel is my mission.
I am an advocate for women in the workplace, upskilling programs and networking being a vital part of business. I am involved in several industry associations and support multiple charitable groups. I would love to go on a journey of growth with you!
